Ongoing damage deals a specified amount of damage to a character at the start of each of the subject's turns. Due to the timing, it doesn't apply on the same turn it is inflicted, but will commence as soon as the subject is able to act. It is in addition to instantaneous damage, if any, from the attack that inflicted the ongoing damage. Unless otherwise noted, each ongoing damage effect lasts until a save ends it. Ongoing damage effects of different damage types stack. The effects deal damage separately each round, and require separate saving throws.
