Guindon started his World Hockey Association career with the Quebec Nordiques. He would also play with the Winnipeg Jets. After the Jets were absorbed by the National Hockey League in 1979, he would play one more year with the Jets before retiring. He played junior hockey for the St. Jerome Alouettes in 1967-68 and played for the Montreal Junior Canadiens in 1968-69 and 1969-70, winning the Memorial Cup in both seasons. The Detroit Red Wings chose him 26th in the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft and assigned him to the Fort Worth Wings. He played there from 1970 to 1972.
