  • Examine, eli tutki, on RuneScapessa hyödyllinen asia.
  • "Examine" is the top option in the radial menu of most objects, and it can be assigned to a quickslot for use on any clickable object (including a player's own character).
  • Upon choosing the Examine option, a short description of the object will appear on the chat interface. Examining items is often not very useful for anything other than interest. One particularly unhelpful example can be seen when examining opal bolt tips, which yields the message: "Opal bolt tips." Examining some items or scenery during quests can be valuable, or even necessary. For example, examining the levers on the bottom level of the Abandoned Mine during the Haunted Mine quest lets the player know which lever is which.

For example, if goblin armour is examined, the examine text reads: "Armour Designed to fit Goblins." Many examine functions simply describe the object in slightly more detail, however some descriptions may prove useful to the player in describing what purpose the object serves. One example is with some NPC traders such as Nurmof, whose description reads "He sells pickaxes" - meaning the player does not need to engage in conversation to know what purpose something serves when there are no other indicators. Examining signs above the entrances of some buildings may also tell the player the building's name and/or nature - especially useful in the case of pubs.

Noted items will have the examine text "Swap this note at any bank for the equivalent item." followed by its G.E. price, and "[Number] x [item name]." followed by the price in a stack of 100,000+ items. If dropped, the examine will say "[Number] x [item name]. GE guide price: [price] gp each" followed by "Swap this note at any bank for the equivalent item." regardless of stack size. There is also the possibility that if one of the characters have failed to learn the Skill (a blue question mark will appear above the character's head instead of a gold exclamation mark if the character have failed to learn an ability of an enemy the character examined), one can check the journal while camping and use a Skill Ink to give it to one of the characters. Keep in mind, however, that even if a character fail to learn an ability, it does not guarantee that it will be available in the journal.

Bijvoorbeeld, het bekijken van een war tortoise geeft het bericht "Definitely not teenaged, although the jury is out on its ninja skills." "Upon examining the Examiner, you examine it is indeed an examiner!"
