The 2010 San Diego Chargers season was the franchise's 41st season in the National Football League, and their 51st overall. After a 13–3 record dissolved into a disappointing loss to the New York Jets in the divisional round of the 2009-10 NFL Playoffs, the Chargers had high hopes of winning their fifth consecutive AFC West division title and contending for a Super Bowl championship. However, they started the season with a 2–3 record for the fourth consecutive year. After a Week 16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, they were eliminated from postseason contention, and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2005.
