Built to be the anointed guardians of the Krittain system, the Arsenal-class heavy cruisers are powerful, well-balanced warships of the Krittish people. While Krittain is a very crowded star system, with over 200 planetary bodies, only three of these cruisers were constructed to suit this protection role, augmented by several dozen small cutters and patrol corvettes. For heavy cruisers, the Arsenals are relatively fast and nimble. They not only find themselves chasing down blockade runners and pirates, but they have to be maneuverable to navigate such a chaotic astronomic environment. They are reasonably well-armed, relying on a mixture of turbolaser batteries, ion cannons, and torpedo tubes. To counteract attacking fighter craft and missile threats, eighteen triple-headed rapid-fire turrets cover just about every approach. Krittish crewers have become quite good shots, and oft do they find practice firing at asteroids and space debris.
