When Dixie and Kiddy enter the battle with Kroctopus, Kroctopus comes out from under the water and uses his claws to attack Dixie and Kiddy who must avoid them. After some time, a TNT Barrel falls out of the sky and the duo must trick Kroctopus into pinching the TNT Barrel, but if the primates do not avoid it, they become attacked by the TNT blast. When the two do this four more times, Kroctopus sinks underwater, looking like it ended battle. In a while, Kroctopus rises out from the water in a rage by attacking quicker with his claws. The two must avoid his claws and make him touch the TNT Barrel again with his claws three more times until Kroctopus sinks underwater again. Kroctopus then emerges out of the water colored red, explaining his fury at Dixie and Kiddy. This time, he uses two of his claws instead of just one. The duo must make his claws touch the TNT Barrel three more times, making nine total to fully defeat him and gain his Bonus Coin he has been holding on to.

Kroctopus will jab its tentacles towards the platforms one at a time, and must be avoided by the Kongs. After a certain amount, a bomb will drop, and Kroctopus will actually aim for Dixie and Kiddy. The Kongs must make it so Kroctopus aims at the bomb and gets damaged, but avoid the explosion themselves. This cycle must be rinsed and repeated three times, after it appears to sink out of weakness. It will then rise, reddened likely due to the explosions or it's rage, and attack at a faster rate. After hitting it another 3 times it will sink and reemerge, in a darker red color and it's eyes getting red. His attack style changes to two tentacle jabs at once, making him tricky to avoid without Dixie Kong. A final three bomb hits will defeat it.
