However, she was injured, and left the Defiant. (TOS comic: "A Small Matter of Faith") It is revealed that Barrows and McCoy resumed their romance, eventually marrying after 2293. Kirk, during a historic five-year mission that starship undertook. In 2267, Barrows was one of several landing party members briefly trapped on the surface of the Shore Leave Planet. While there, she was accosted twice by recreations of legendary rake Don Juan. She found a dress, exactly the sort she imagined a princess of the "blood royale" might wear.

Ze zag dat de Zwarte Ridder McCoy vermoordde en gaf hier zichzelf de schuld van. Kirk wist haar er echter van te overtuigen dat dit niet het geval was.
