The Polisberg Militia is the primary defense force for Polisberg. It is rather misnamed, as it is actually a standing army of long service professionals and not a volunteer muster. In times of extreme threats, it is supplemented by the Levy, which is an actual militia drawn from the people of Polisberg and surrounding villages. The Militia has a near-absolute monopoly on force inside their area of operations. Although they are somewhat lax in dealing with matters of burglary or petty theft, they come down harshly on assault and are lethally intolerant of murder.

  • The Polisberg Militia is the primary defense force for Polisberg. It is rather misnamed, as it is actually a standing army of long service professionals and not a volunteer muster. In times of extreme threats, it is supplemented by the Levy, which is an actual militia drawn from the people of Polisberg and surrounding villages. The Militia is small but has several high quality troops, including knights and dwarven engineers. They keep the peace out to the Westwatch and frequently make armed excursions to eliminate monster lairs that get too near to town. However, because their strength is so limited, they do not make any attempt to deal with monsters that stay more than a few miles away from the Westwatch. The Militia has a near-absolute monopoly on force inside their area of operations. Although they are somewhat lax in dealing with matters of burglary or petty theft, they come down harshly on assault and are lethally intolerant of murder.
