Same-sex sexual activity is legal in the U.S. Virgin Islands, but there are no civil unions, and same-sex marriage is forbidden by statute (Virgin Islands Code 16 V.I.C. § 31). In 2014, Senator Judi Buckley introduced a bill to allow same-sex couples to wed. Opponents of the bill organized under the name One Voice Virgin Islands.
