The Union of Baltic Republics (Russian: Союз Балтийских Республик Soyuz Baltiĭskikh Respublik), commonly known as Baltica or the Baltic Republic, was a political union of three Baltic states from 1919–1945. It was granted independence from the Russian Empire as a union to ensure the sovereignty of the three republics from the Soviet Union.
