Lift ticket sales are limited to 6500 each day making it one of the highest uphill capacities in the United States. Deer Valley Resort opened in December 1981. It was one of the first ski resorts to offer ski valets to carry guests' ski gear from their cars to the slopes, to provide free parking lot shuttles, to have a state-licensed child-care facility on site, to uniform all its employees from kitchen staff to lift attendants, to provide tissues in the lift lines, to refer to customers as “guests” as they would be called at a hotel, to provide complementary ski check even overnight, to offer pagers to parents with children in the Children's Center, so they can be reached at a moment's notice. * More than 500 acres have snowmaking machines. * Hosted the 2002 Olympic Winter Games freestyle moguls and aerial, and alpine slalom events. * Deer Valley's Olympic stadium was 12 stories tall with seating for 10,000 guests. * Deer Valley does not allow snowboarders. * During the summer season Deer Valley Resort hosts multiple outdoor events including: * Deer Valley Music Festival * Park City Jazz Festival * Ideaspheres Big Stars Bright Nights Concert Series Deer Valley was built at the former site of "Snow Park," a ski area which operated from 1946-69.
