abstract	Per-Olov Brasar (b. September 30th 1950 in Falun, Dalarna, Sweden) is a former professional left winger who played in the Elitserien for Leksands IF and in the National Hockey League for the Minnesota North Stars and the Vancouver Canucks. Brasar was an excellent playmaker and excelled on both special units. After several seasons with Leksands IF, Brasar signed as a free agent with the North Stars in 1976. He registered 20 goals as a rookie, playing on an exciting line with Roland Eriksson and Kent-Erik Andersson. With the team reinforced the next season by the merger with the Cleveland Barons and the drafting of players such as Bobby Smith and Steve Payne, Brasar ended up filling more defensive roles; he was traded to Vancouver the next season. He had success on his first full season with Vancouver in 1980-81, scoring a career-high 63 points. He had 22 goals that season, 8 of which were on the power play. He was often playing along eith Tiger Williams and B.J. MacDonald. He found himself having less ice time the next season; his numbers consequently fell. That turned out to be his last season in the NHL; he returned in Sweden in 1982 and retired in 1983.
