Fidelma Ormonde was elected to the Senate in May 3152. Prior to her election, she served as President of Women for Choice, a pro-choice organization. In 3154, she contested the leadership of the Free Democrats. She won just under 12% of the vote. In April 3158, Ormonde was appointed to the cabinet as Minister of Education and Culture. She served in this position until October 3160.
