Excellent fighter with superior speed and maneuverability. Well suited to destroying or luring enemy fighters away so bombers are free to attack. 5 fighters per squadron. A-Wings are a step up from the X-Wing in terms of both agility and firepower. However, they take considerably long to produce, and come with a higher pricetag. Its special ability causes all nearby enemy fighters to target them, as opposed to your bombers and corvettes. Unfortunately, this invariably means that you're bound to lose a squadron or two in any given space battle.

  • "A-wings" were small, agile craft that lacked shields and did't require any skills to pilot. They had twin mounted laser cannons that could go around in "360" degrees, making any idiotic pilot (preferably from Tatooine) seem like an ace. A-wings were very cheap and easy to design; they were usually made up of leftover meals which made the ship perfect for the Rebel Alliance. The Alliance ordered hundreds...no wait "THOUSANDS" of these ships so that they can equal the Empire's TIE fighters. They had a maximum speed of 5000mph which resulted in almost instantaneous blackout for a sober pilot. In result of this, the Rebel Alliance hired any drunk they could possibly find for this fighter.
  • A-wings were the main starfighters for the Rebel Fleet during the Rebel Civil War. More than 2,000 were used in the war, and when Poggle reformed the Rebellion, there were 1,178.

  • The RZ-1 A-Wing is the interceptor starship for the Rebel Alliance. It is specifically built for tracking and destroying enemy ships. They are very agile, but require quite a bit of skill and a lot of pilot's luck to handle the craft smoothly. If you can, you will quickly become a nuisance to the enemy, taking out ships quickly and skillfully almost before the enemy player realises they are being attacked. This is very handy for accumulating the points you cannot get from only taking out the critical points of the enemy Capital ship. There are sure to be many of these ships present in any game in space. The A-Wing is also exceptionally helpful when boarding your or the enemies' ship, in order to get the point from the inside. Other equivalents of the A-Wing include the Republic Interceptor
  • Developed over a considerable period of time, the Dodonna-Blissex RZ-1 A-Wing claims the title of the fastest standard-issue combat starfighter in the galaxy. With its low mass driven by a pair of high-yield Novaldex J-77 engines, the wedge-shaped craft can achieve tremendous velocities and is capable of extraordinarily precise manuvers. The engine itself has been christened the Event Horizon, and their production is a guarded facet. All of its internal componentry is implemented in a MinMaxOpt approach — the minimum amount of size with the maximum amount of output to optimize performance. For example, traditional Alliance starfighters utilize droids for navigation and repair. The A-Wing is forced to employ a complex navigation computer that has not been fully battle-tested and has no know
  • With its sleek arrowhead shape, streamlined cockpit and massive twin engines, the A-wing starfighter suggests raw speed even when parked within Alliance hangar bays. Faster than even the TIE Interceptor, the A-wing is well suited for lightning strikes. It sports a pair of pivoting laser cannons on each wingtip. The starfighters of Green Squadron, which flew in the Battle of Endor, were made up of A-wing starfighters.

  • Coupled with its speed, a premier sensor package makes the A-Wing a valued craft. Fabritech initially upgraded their 5-series sensor units, but chose to develop the entirely new 7-series of packages. These packages sport better range, accuracy, and response than their previous siblings, in addition to being more compact and compatible with the high speeds that the A-Wing attains. However, since they are quite new, they are prone to glitches and failures, and unit replacement is far easier than unit repair. Republic techs have lately cut access panels into the hulls of A-Wings that facilitate swift removal and replacement of the entire ANs-7e sensor unit.
