- The Simpsons B.C (Before Comedy) is a prequel/spinoff to The Simpsons. It focuses on young Homer growing up with his father Abe Simpson. It focuses on Homer's tragic backstory and an explanation to why he is such a bad father. The series focuses on Abe working as a minor criminal and Homer's beginnings. Characters: Abe Simpson: Status: Main character Abe is the main anti-hero of the show. He abuses Homer and is a much worse father than Homer is in the original show. Abe's abuses range from stranglings, beatings, mental assaults, and in one occasion he hit Homer in the face with a bar stool. But there are occasions when Abe tries to make up for his bad behavior, but these are VERY rare. Homer Simpson: Status: Main character. Homer is the secondary protagonist of the show. He ages three times, the first of his age is when he is in elementary school. The second is when he is in 8th grade of middle school. The third age focuses on his senior year. He has a huge crush on Marge Bouvier (Younger Marge Simpson) but Marge does not return those feelings (until towards the end) he has to juggle dealing with his drunk and abusive father, his grades, his crush Marge, and dealing with Artie Ziff who tries to make his life miserable. He and Marge develop from friends, close friends, flirtatious friends, boy friend and girlfriend (in the finale only) and finally become engaged (also in the finale) Marge Bouvier: Status: Main character. Marge is a main character of the show. She has a crush on Artie Ziff most of the show until he tries to have sex with her on prom night, then she falls in love with Homer. Artie Ziff: Status: Main antagonist (for Homer) Artie Ziff is the main antagonist of the show. He loves Marge and will do anything to have her. He bullies Homer just for the sake of it and even once drove him to near suicide without remorse (which would have happened if Abe did not interfere). He is strangely cruel to Homer, once shoving him into a bush of poison ivy.
