Axle the Red, known as Spike Rosered (スパイク・ローズレッド Supaiku Rōzureddo?) is a rose-based Reploid from Mega Man X5. He originated from a very rare and mysterious mutation between a Reploid, the nature control unit of a Ukrainian jungle, and the Sigma Virus. As the process and cause of this mutation could not be determined, it was believed that this strange evolution could create a threat more serious than the virus itself. So Axle hid himself away in an abandoned military base in the jungle; where he at some point in time obtained an Orbiter Engine needed for the Maverick Hunters' Space Shuttle. When the Maverick Hunters encountered him while searching for the Orbiter Engine, he resisted, stating that they would need to fight him to obtain it and that he doesn't care what happens to Earth as h

Se originó a partir de una mutación muy rara y misteriosa entre un Reploid, la unidad de control de la naturaleza de la selva de Ucrania y el Virus Sigma. Como no se pudo determinar el proceso y la causa de esta mutación, se creía que esta extraña evolución podría crear una amenaza más grave que el propio virus. Así, Axle se escondió en una base militar abandonada en la selva, donde en algún momento en el tiempo obtuvo un motor Orbiter necesario para el Space Shuttle de los Maverick Hunters. Cuando los Maverick Hunters lo encontraron en la búsqueda del Orbiter Engine, se resistió, diciendo que tendrían que pelear para conseguirlo y que no le importa lo que le suceda a la tierra como él sería capaz de robar todo lo que quiera durante el pánico. Axle The Red también expresó su desaprobación de los métodos de los Hunters, citando el incidente de la Repliforce en Mega Man X4 al jugar como Zero.
