Oranie "Orie" of Hannalof (pronounced OHR-ah-nee of HAH-nah-loff/ MIHN-duh-lahn), born Oranie of Mindelan, was one of Keladry's older sisters, five years her senior. She visited the Yamani Islands with her parents, but had since learnt to become a 'proper' Eastern maiden, including losing, or at the very least no longer using, her ability to fight with a glaive. Although she and her sister Adalia told Lady Florzile, a member of the Nond family, that they were not close to Kel on account of her being so much younger, when Doanna of Fenrigh insulted Kel and demanded another server, the two of them gave her looks which 'promised trouble'.
