abstract
| - Polyglandular autoimmune syndrome, also known as autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome, is a group of autoimmune diseases that usually affect the endocrine system, although they can affect other systems as well. Like many other autoimmune conditions, its cause is unknown, but the treatment is steroids. One of the problems with polyglandular autoimmune syndrome is that it can manifest itself as other metabolic disease including Celiac disease, hypogonadism, myasthenia gravis, sarcoidosis, Sjogren's syndrome or rheumatoid arthritis. As such, in addition to steroids, the other secondary conditions often require treatment as well.
