The story begins with young boy Spencer Sinclair wanting to join Jack Sparrow's crew. He is annoying Jack by asking many questions that Jack doesn't want to answer. Two pirates come and tell the young boy to go off and play with an anchor. Spencer thinks its a test to see how much motivation he has to join the crew. Jack gives a pirate the beads of the Queen of Spain. Spencer accidentally falls from the second floor to the first. He then sees many of Sparrow's crew turn into skeletons.

The skeletons try to kill Spencer, but Jack gets in the way. Spencer saves the day by making barrels fall on the skeleton's heads. Jack then accepts Spencer into his crew, but Spencer starts asking more questions, and Jack starts regretting it all over again.
