| - The blasted lands north of the great blight are where the 100 companions unleashed their destruction immediatly after the dark one's counterstroke. It is a broken and desolate land seldom walked by humans.
- The Blasted Lands are a zone in southern Eastern Kingdoms. They used to be called the Black Morass, and can still be seen as such in the Burning Crusade Caverns of Time instance. These lands include:
* The Dark Portal, the portal between the worlds of Azeroth and Outland
* Nethergarde Keep, an stronghold They were the site of the Blasted War. The Blasted Lands contain no stronghold - the closest one is Stonard.
- The Blasted Lands was a place devoid of life in the Crab-Scorpion border.
- To the south lies the Great Blight, and to the north, an icy wasteland which none have explored. Few have even reached the Blasted Lands. Jain Farstrider is the last known to have tried—without intention of suicide, at least—and in his attempt he was captured by the Shadow. The army of Lain Mandragoran, uncle of al'Lan Mandragoran, was said to have been destroyed in the Blasted Lands, though it is more likely that they fell in the Great Blight. However, the fact that the Blasted Lands even have a name indicates that people have seen it in the past.

This wasted desert of red clay is home to the original Dark Portal. The portal still stands, and leads to Outland — the remains of the orcs’ sundered homeworld, Draenor.
