In 2006, he won his first WPT event, Kasabyan knocked out two players with four remaining including Nam Le. He was heads up with Steve Wong. After six hours of heads-up Wong asked Kasabyan if he would like to chop. Kasbayan agreed if he would take the $25000 buy in World Poker Tour Championship. Steve Wong agreed as long as he could be shown as the winner. Kasabyan cashed one hundred fifty thousand as well as Wong in that event. Kasabyan took a big hit in the $25000 buy in World Poker Tour Championship getting knocked out 103rd just shy of the pay out 100th. He was knocked out with A8 with the Ace on the flop against an allin on the flop with pocket 88 hitting a one outer on Kasabyan. Kasabyan played High Stakes Baccarat throughout his life which has given him bankroll problems in his poker career. As of 2008, his total live tournament winnings exceed $500,000.
