Flyswatter is the first of three demo Compact Cassettes recorded and written by the punk rock band Blink-182 (then known as Blink) before changing their name due to copywright purposes. The demo was recorded in drummer Scott Raynor's bedroom in May 1993 on a 4 track recorder. It contains 8 tracks, 2 of which are covers, these being, "Longest line" and "Freak scene". The demo received mild success in the local area, being sold at the band's shows and out of bass player Mark Hoppus' garage. The CD cover was designed by guitarist Tom DeLonge.
