| - Troy Curtis AKA Troy Kurtis or Troy Tuminelli (born December 30, 1980 in Danbury, Connecticut) is an American actor, singer and entrepreneur who originally rose to fame as a member of the band MDO. At a young age, Curtis developed a passion for the world of performance art and music, singing at the family dinner table. Whether through singing or acting, Curtis was determined to take the world by storm with his creative aptitude. As the first non-Spanish speaking member of the pop group MDO—a reincarnation of the Puerto Rican super-group Menudo – he helped expand the band’s followers from Puerto Rico to all of Central America. MDO’s 2000 single, Te Quise Olvidar from it’s Subir Al Cielo album, was released by Sony and became an instant hit on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks. With MDO, Curtis has toured the world, singing for more than 500,000 fans with musical legends such as Christina Aguilera, the Backstreet Boys, Cheyenne and Celia Cruz. After leaving MDO in 2001, Curtis signed on to play Nico Castaneda in the American soap opera Guiding Light, appearing in 86 episodes throughout the season. In addition to starring in a principle role, he also wrote and performed all of the music featured in the show. After Guiding Light, Curtis landed the title role in an off Broadway production of Job and the Snake. In 2007, Curtis began writing and producing original music. To date, he has written, recorded and published a total of 60 songs, collaborating with some of the most in-demand professionals in entertainment, including acting coach Susan Batson (former clients include Nicole Kidman, Jamie Foxx, Tom Cruise, etc.), vocal coach Donald Lawrence (Bono, Lady Gaga, etc.), and vocal trainer William Riley (Celine Dion, Faith Hill, etc.). In 2000, Curtis founded Premier Talent Entertainment—a full-service event planning company that produces exotic events for industry giants. His most recent projects include Kim Kardashian’s Welcome to New York City Party in August 2011. In 2012, he formed Troy Curtis Inc., an umbrella company for acting and entertainment from a unified mind, body and soul approach.
