- Exercise (latin ex- no more and ercise- size) is the act of participating in activities known to cause premature aging and early death. Frequent and regular physical exercise is an important component in the cause of some of the diseases of overachievers such as heart disease and OCD. The demands of exercise cause such a strain on the human heart that autopsies performed on exercisers in their twenties have shown that the average exerciser’s heart looks exactly like one from a 65 year old who smoked 4 packs of unfiltered Camels every day for 40 years and drank Jose Cuervo straight from morning till night.
- Exercise has many effects on the body that can help manage depression and help adjust sleep patterns. Endorphins, a natural (endogenous) form of pain relief (morphine), are created by exercise, which are known to improve mood.
- Be aware the Exercise isn't necessarily what you may think it is. If your sole image of exercise is calisthenics and weight lifting, you are missing the vast majority of exercise options. So what is exercise then? From a physiological standpoint, exercise is any activity that results in physical effort on the part of the body. So what activities count as exercise? Try the following:
* Dance
* Basketball
* Bicycling
* Chopping Wood
* Chasing the bus
* Hiking
* Climbing
* Swimming
* Mopping the floor From Health Wiki, a Wikia wiki.
- If you play NetHack, then you want to exercise your six attributes to help the hero survive the dungeon. Though increases in experience level might grant you more hit points and power, the hero requires boosts to attributes to fight well and succeed in more situations. Here are examples of how to exercise strength, dexterity, constitution, and wisdom:
* Push boulders around for strength.
* Wield a blade and #force open locked chests for dexterity.
* Eat and avoid becoming hungry or satiated for constitution.
* Engrave Elbereth with uppercase "E" and lowercase "lbereth" for wisdom.

- If you play NetHack, then you want to exercise your six attributes to help the hero survive the dungeon. Though increases in experience level might grant you more hit points and power, the hero requires boosts to attributes to fight well and succeed in more situations. Of the six attributes (strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma), you can only exercise four; there is no way to exercise intelligence or charisma. However, charisma can be increased by stepping into a magic trap, and intelligence by eating a mind flayer corpse or quaffing a blessed potion of enlightenment. All attributes can be raised by quaffing a (blessed) potion of gain ability or drinking from a magic fountain (best if Luck >=4).
You should already be exercising during normal gameplay. However, exercise does not cause immediate gains in your attributes. Instead, exercise increments a counter. At turn 600, NetHack does a check and increases your attribute if the counter is high enough. Subsequent checks occur at random intervals between 800 and 1000 turns from the last one, with special treatment for game restores. However, increases become less likely over time.

* Mopping the floor The list can get quite varied, there are so many things that count as exercise. Still exercise can be grouped into three types depending on the overall effect it has on the human body:
* Flexibility exercises such as stretching improve the range of motion of muscles and joints.
* Aerobic exercises such as walking and running focus on increasing cardiovascular endurance.
* Anaerobic exercises such as weight training, functional training or sprinting increase short-term muscle strength. Each type has it value. In selecting the kind of exercise activity to engage in, it is important to choose one that will actually be done. If you find it boring, you will eventually give it up and lose the benefits. Consequently try do something that you will enjoy and keep on doing. Of course if you are the kind the person that is perennially late for the bus, you're probably set for life. :) From Health Wiki, a Wikia wiki.
