The season kicked off on an early start on June 3 producing Hurricane Amelia, and ended on December 6 with Hurricane Timona, making the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season tied for the third most active hurricane season, (tied with 1995, 2010, 2011 and 2012, only behind 1933).
