He played junior hockey for the Shawinigan Cataractes from 1988 to 1991, getting a reputation as a tough enforcer. Undrafted by the NHL, Morissette played in the minor pros until 1998. In that year the Montreal Canadiens signed him as a free agent. He played 11 games with Montreal over the next two seasons, scoring no points but getting 57 penalty minutes. Morissette retired in 2001.
