As Destiny Islands são formadas por três ilhas, a Ilha Principal, onde possue as casas e a escola onde Kairi e Selphie estudam, a segunda ilha, onde è jogavel no primeiro jogo da série e a pequena ilha de Riku, que fica perto das Destiny Islands. Assim como o Olympus Coliseum, as Destiny Islands apareceram em todos os jogos de Kingdom Hearts, mas só foram jogaveis em Kingdom Hearts, se bem que uma versão virtual aparece em Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. Além de Sora, Riku e Kairi, neste mundo também vivem Tidus e Wakka (de Final Fantasy X) e Selphie (de Final Fantasy VIII).
