  • Catacombs is a Mercenaries map for Resident Evil 6. In the Japanese version it is known as "Catacombs - bottom layer"(カタコンベ 最下層Katakonbe sai kasō). It was originally an Gamestop-exclusive map, and made available as a DLC on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace on October 31, 2012.
  • Although the Catacombs are no longer in use, some say screams can be heard from within. This area can be reached from Elysion. This location has four areas. The first two are non-missable, you will visit them through the story. The other two are missable and become available via the quest A Voice from the Past. If you haven't done the quest, the missing parts can be unlocked later via the Qsiti in the top left corner of the Pub in Melphina. There is a strange gas in some parts of this location. It slows Rush's walking speed considerably. Use Timeshift to avoid monster ambushes.
  • The Catacombs is a large area in pre-Searing Ascalon. They used to be the subterranean burial place belonging to Ashford Abbey, with a large network of hallways, caves, chambers, tombs and crypts. Since the Catacombs are now haunted by Undead in large numbers, they are no longer used as a crypt. Only the bravest dare to enter deep into this area of death and horror. The Catacombs are home to elaborate murals of all of the old Gods (Dwayna, Balthazar, Melandru, Lyssa and Grenth) that later appear in Ascalon City (Post-Searing). Beware of poisonous Swamp Water in some areas of the Catacombs.
  • The Catacombs contains the Hero of Bowerstone's tomb alongside his/her spouse and the Guild Seal. The Catacombs are found during the Hero's exodus from the castle in the beginning of the game, along with his/her Dog, mentor and valet. The Hero retrieves the Guild Seal as his/her own and is warped to the Road to Rule where he/she is greeted by Theresa. When he/she returns to the real world, the Hero activates a passageway under the tombs that leads through the catacombs, and the three walk through it while they fight bats. Later they come upon a dead end underneath Bowerstone Industrial with a Cullis Gate which leads them to the Sanctuary. The Catacombs will be inaccessible until you become the King or Queen of Albion. • The Catacombs can be found beneath the Temple of the Mad God, Tarjan. They consist of three levels and were apparently built by the worshippers of Tarjan. On the one hand, they are used as a graveyard, but on the other hand, the priests of Tarjan live there. On the second level, the private chambers of Tarjan's high priest Bashar Kavilor can be found.

The Conjurer's APAR spell does not work on all levels. On the 1st and 2nd levels, you can APAR in, out, and to other locations on the same level. On the 3rd level, you can only APAR out; you cannot APAR into the level or within the level, you'll simply waste your spell points. Therefore, if you want to APAR to the 3rd level, you should APAR to the 2nd level where the stairs take you down (1 level down, 8 squares north and 11 squares east from the entry stairs).

However, the pathway to the Cullis Gate will be blocked off by a pile of rocks. When you return here there will be a chest near the entrance and the bats will be replaced with balverines and hollow men.
