The threat of enemies meant that they moved their industry underground to allow it to During the reign of the Robotech Masters, the planet was conquered by the Invid horde of the Regent. Knowing that the Karbarrans would not surrender, the Invid forces would hold the planet's children hostage and force the natives to serve them. In time, an Invid Brain was installed in the planetary garrison and it controlled the army of Inorganics that kept order on this world. During the formation of the Sentinels, the band of resistance fighters worked in conjunction with the Robotech Expeditionary Force to liberate Karbarra. Its freedom allowed the Karbarrans to lend their industrial might to the REF's cause and they helped build a fleet for the Human forces.
