- Ubuntu ist ein Wort aus dem seltenen Kernel-Dialekt, der von einigen wenigen Eskimos auch nicht mehr gesprochen wird, und bedeutet so viel wie: "Was soll der Scheiß?!?". Größere Bekanntheit erlangte dieses Wort als Name einer Linux-Distribution und soll angeblich auf den Ausruf eines Studenten zurückgehen dessen Zimmergenosse ihm sein selbstgefrickeltes System auf den bis dato voll funktionstüchtigen Computer kopiert hatte. Nachfolger von Ubuntu ist Kubuntu. Das Wort Kubuntu bedeutet so viel wie "Lasst mich los, er zuckt noch!" und wurde kurz nach dem Ubuntu-Erstinstallationsvorfall entwickelt.
