  • The first female field commander introduced. Not just a commander, Mazurka is also an accomplished spy and possesses disguise skills which she utilizes a lot to infiltrate the enemy. This, in a way, makes her some sort of dark counterpart to Goggle Pink, the Goggle V's disguise mistress.
  • Raptor Mazurka and Chocobo Mazurka are songs present in Final Fantasy XI. Both allow a character to run faster, covering greater distances in shorter periods of time. Raptor Mazurka is available at level 37 whereas Chocobo Mazurka, which is slightly faster, is available at 73. Chocobo Mazurka is slightly slower than Flee, which is also present as a Thief job ability, and, interestingly enough, chocobos in the game. Mazurka does not increase a character's action speed, like Haste or March. The duration of Mazurka can be increased if a Bard is using a Harlequin's Horn when singing the song.

Mazurka cannot be used in all areas. Almost all outdoor areas and many indoor areas allow the use of Mazurka, but there are a select few dungeons where the song has no effect. The effect of Mazurka is immediately canceled if the player casts a spell or attacks a creature or if a creature casts a spell against or attacks a player. In other words, it cannot be used in combat to run away effectively. Before a recent update, Mazurka could have been used to create an awful lot of hate, which had given rise to the somewhat dubious "Bard Tank" strategy. However, the update drastically reduced the amount of hate gained from casting Mazurka, making this tanking style uneffective.

In one of the final plans of Deathmark, Mazurka was showered by powerful Hightron energy which makes her invisible and undetected, but at cost of draining her life force. She used this new power to infiltrate the Future Science Laboratory and enabled the Deathdark to raid the base. However, Deathgiller revealed that Deathmark also planted a bomb in a recently given necklace, and she has fulfilled her mission, thus it's time for her to die from the drained life force. Refusing to die just like that, Mazurka seized the bomb's control and turned it on, destroying herself and the Future Science Laboratory in process.Ep. 48: The Last Day of the Secret Base
