| - the Genovese crime family is well-known to be highly efficient, secretive, and extremely clever. The Genovese crime family is the most intelligent, sophisticated, crafty, efficient, resourceful, shrewd, clever, creative, slippery and secretive of the five families. they keep an extremely low-profile from law enforcement and other crime families as well. The Genovese crime family manages to show a great degree of due diligence and intelligence by neutralizing wiretaps, surveillance, and bugs. They are always very clever, shrewd, proficient, efficient, secretive, and low-key, at all times. They manage to be very resourceful in a sticky situation. They never discuss a crime after they commit it. They switch up their routines, on a daily basis. They never show off their wealth. They hardly ever meet at a social club for meetings. They constantly switch cars, to avoid getting put on surveillance by the FBI. After they commit a murder they bury the body, or dismember the body, and put the different parts of the body in different locations. when it comes to murder or any kind of organized crime or other crimes, they never leave a trail, and they always destroy the evidence. They always are making sure that they stay as smart, crafty, and low-key as possible, and they seem to always accomplish staying two steps ahead of the FBI. They never let their guard down. They always stay quiet, low-key, slippery and secretive, they also hardly ever use phones, unless its necessary. The Boss orders some members to frequently stay inside their social clubs all hours of the day and night and switch off shifts with other members to make sure their social club doesn't get bugged by the FBI. While they are in their social clubs, they still never discuss anything illegal, if they need to discuss any kind of business for any reason, they take extreme precautions, such as, searching for electronic bugs where ever they are, and body searching each other for wiretaps. they either go outside away from where they are, or go in their car and turn up the radio all the way, and speak in code, and wright it on a piece of paper and even use hand signs instead of verbally conducting business or discussing any particular crime amongst themselves to limit their exposure to potentially damaging conversations, such as wiretaps, surveillance, and bugs. The Genovese Crime Family make just as much money legitimately as they do illegally. the Genovese bosses have always used an effective technique, what they call "front bosses", a crafty method in which the boss assigns a high-ranking member of his crime family to conduct and portray himself as being the boss, so the actual boss can lay low and avoid heat from law enforcement, and so they can confuse Law Enforcement, and so they can be as secretive as possible, in addition the bosses wants to prevent any members from testifying against him as well as the crime family. the Genovese's have always played that game of chess with the FBI and Law enforcement and other crime families as well. the FBI have stated that "the Genovese crime family is always 2 steps ahead of us", which is why it has always been so difficult for the FBI to arrest the real boss and other members as well. The FBI has stated that the "Genovese Crime Family is the most intelligent, sophisticated, crafty, secretive, efficient and slippery Criminal organization in history." Due to their craftiness, secrecy, efficiency, incredible intelligence and their long-lasting ability to stay as low-key as possible, The Genovese crime family is currently one of the most powerful criminal organization's in America, and like always, they are still as secretive, smarter and low key. and like most crime families, Today the genovese's prefer to use brains over bullets although they are not as violent, brutal, dangerous and deadly as they used to be, however like most Mafia families they will not hesitate to go to war or kill anyone or anybody that threaten their livelihood and their organization. Finding new ways to make money in the 21st century, the Genovese family took advantage of lax due diligence by banks during the housing spike with a wave of mortgage frauds. Prosecutors say loan shark victims obtained home equity loans to pay off debts to their mob bankers. The family found ways to use new technology to improve on old reliable illegal gambling, with customers placing bets through offshore sites via the Internet. The modern family was founded by Charles Luciano, but after 1957 it was renamed after boss Vito Genovese. Originally in control of the waterfront on the West Side of Manhattan (including the Fulton Fish Market), the family was run for years by "the Oddfather", Vincent Gigante, who feigned insanity by shuffling unshaven through New York’s Greenwich Village wearing a tattered bath robe and muttering to himself incoherently. Although the leadership of the Genovese family seemed to have been in limbo after the death of Gigante in 2005, la famiglia still appears to be the most organized and well-kept family and remains powerful. Unique in today's Mafia, the family has benefited greatly from members following the code of Omertà. While many mobsters from across the country have testified against their crime families since the 1980s, the Genovese family has only had five members turn state's evidence in its history.
