In order to prove his intentions, Kruge had one of the prisoners killed! The Klingon guard took out his d'k tahg and made for Saavik, but David jumped the guard to protect Saavik and was killed by the Klingon guard! Kirk was devastated that his son had been killed! He said "Kruge, you evil monster! You killed my son!" In order to save his crew and the Guardian Warriors, Kirk agreed to surrender the Enterprise! Kirk set the Enterprise to self-destruct and he, McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Chekov, and the Guardian Warriors beamed down to Genesis! Kruge's men, led by Torg, beamed aboard the Enterprise! Kruge's men headed toward the bridge! They finally made it to the bridge, but it was deserted! Torg said "My lord, the ship appears to be deserted!" Kruge said "How can that be? They're hiding!" Torg said "Yes, sir, but the bridge appears to be run by computer and it's the only thing speaking!" Kruge said "Speaking? Let me hear!" So Torg went to the science console so that Kruge could hear what the computer was saying! Kruge heard the countdown and told his men "GET OUT! GET OUT OF THERE! GET OUT!" But it was too late! The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 exploded, killing the Klingon boarding party! Kirk, McCoy, Scotty, Sulu, Chekov, and the Guardian Warriors watched the Enterprise burn up in the atmosphere! Kirk said "My God, Bones, what have I done?" McCoy said "You did what you had to do, Jim! You did what you always do! Turn death into a fighting chance to live!"
