You are free to defend yourself in any way that doesn’t make you look like a cringing wuss. Use of bats is not encouraged, but they can be used for defense as a house rule. No score is kept and there is no clear way to win. Play continues until you stop. " For the PPC, this translates into "Cause as much damage as you can while you run around for the ball in the dark. Least injured team wins, outside of forfeit." It is probably also worth noting that contrary to the above recommendation, bats are standard equipment for PPC players for both offense and defense. Needless to say, neither the Medical Department nor the Building Maintenance crew in the Department of Operations support or recommend Australian Indoor-Rules Quiddich.
