The Tendos and Saotomes all go to the beach, but find it deserted. They discover that a demon dog lives in the sea and drags young girls to their deaths each summer. Ranma is sent to investigate and finds a Torii at the bottom and strikes. Ranma falls unconscious as light envelopes. She wakes up to find a particularly ugly swimsuit that will refuse to let go of Ranma's body unless it is complimented by a someone called Natsuhiko. Unfortunately he does not resemble his younger self and the swimsuit does not recognize him.

Ranma asks Kuno to compliment her swimsuit and he proudly refuses. Ranma goes on a date with Kuno to attempt to convince him to compliment the suit. When the swimsuit starts dragging Ranma to the sea to drown her, Kuno runs up and compliments the swimsuit, freeing Ranma of the curse.
