Gabriel Osbourne was a claimed psychic who appeared in the seventh season episode Byzantium. When we first see him he offers his help as a psychic to Abbott's Team in solving a pair of murders. Having known specific details of the crime - that nobody could possibly know about but the FBI - the team begins to suspect that he is in fact the killer himself. In the following episode, "Brown Shag Carpet", Lisbon tells Jane that Gabriel had oligoastrocytomas (small brain tumors), which cause seizures, blackouts and delusional episodes. This explains why he displayed psychic abilities.

  • Gabriel Osbourne was a claimed psychic who appeared in the seventh season episode Byzantium. When we first see him he offers his help as a psychic to Abbott's Team in solving a pair of murders. Having known specific details of the crime - that nobody could possibly know about but the FBI - the team begins to suspect that he is in fact the killer himself. Jane and Lisbon firmly believe in the whole episode that he is a fake, stating that psychics don't exist. When Jane first confronts him, he asks Gabriel to verify himself being a psychic by making a prediction for him. Gabriel first says that Jane "has a thing inside him that is eating him", meaning either the terrible tragedy in Jane's past or his recent concerns about Lisbon's safety. After saying that, he states that Jane "will be cured by the number three". Later in this episode, Jane sees a three-legged dog that leads him to a land which is for sale. Jane seems to like the sight and appears to be delighted that he found this property; he even smiles. After having this experience, Jane seems relieved, nevertheless when Gabriel asks him about the "number three", he doesn't admit his feelings saying that "we see number three everywhere". Gabriel claimed to have a vision of not only the crime and Jane's future, but of Michelle Vega, whom the team tragically lost in the previous episode. Gabriel told Jason Wylie that he can hear him "crying loudly inside" because of the grief he feels by loosing Vega. Later he told Wylie that "she [Vega] says, she is okay" and - after pointing to his stomach where Vega got shot - he says (pretending to be Vega) that "the pain is all gone". At the end of the episode he predicts his own death claiming to Jane that somebody will die on that evening. Jane doesn't believe him; on the contrary, Gabriel seems even more suspicious to him after their conversation. The same night, Jane, Lisbon and some fellow FBI officers find Gabriel dead - tortured and hanged - in a warehouse. In the following episode, "Brown Shag Carpet", Lisbon tells Jane that Gabriel had oligoastrocytomas (small brain tumors), which cause seizures, blackouts and delusional episodes. This explains why he displayed psychic abilities.
