The upcoming second studio album by British-Irish boy band One Direction will be released by Syco Records in late 2012. The album is a follow-up to One Direction's internationally-successful debut album Up All Night (2011). The album was announced in mid-2012 while One Direction were on a break from their Up All Night Tour (2011–12). Recording began in May 2012. Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub, Savan Kotecha, Ed Sheeran and Tom Fletcher have confirmed to be involved in the development.
