The killer's MO reminds Natalie of another brutal, sadistic murderer: LaCroix's daughter, Divia. Nick insists that Divia is dead, and LaCroix backs him up, but Natalie is nonetheless haunted by odd feelings of déjà vu and the constant, terrifying awareness that she's being followed. As she gets closer to solving the case, she finds herself immersed in a situation that not only threatens her sanity, but also pits her in a battle against the vampire Community—including Nick—for her very life.
