- by fldmrshl - My group has adopted a simple bidding system to balance the game. Allies get no pre-game bonus. All players submit a secret bid for Germany. Whoever bid lowest gets Germany and a number of IPCs equal to his bid as a pre-game bonus instead of the usual 12 IPCs. This bonus may be spent or saved in whatever manner the German player desires just as in the original bonus rules. Use a die roll to resolve any ties in the bidding. These rules first appeared in Don Rae's Axis and Allies Europe Forum March 28 2001: "Play Balance Discussion".
