The RG5000 is a variant of the RG550. It differs most obviously from the RG550 in that it has a mirrored pickguard rather than the usual black. In addition it has color-matched dot fretboard inlays and knobs. The RG5000 features a basswood body with a maple Wizard neck with a color-matched headstock and a 24-fret rosewood fretboard with dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Vintage humbucking pickups flanking a single-coil, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
