Georg Langendorf was an Obersturmführer (First Lieutenant) in the Waffen SS during World War II. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II. Georg Langendorf was born on 28 July 1920, in Gräfenhausen, Darmstadt. He was awarded the Knight's Cross while in command of the 5th (Heavy) Company, 11th SS Reconnaissance Battalion, 11th SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Division Nordland in March 1944.
