About: Akrana   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

Akrana is the homeworld of the Frenna. It is a harsh world of high gravity and constant storms, with only the cities offering safe shelter for most creatures. The starports and some surrounding areas are equipped with powerful anti gravity emplacements, essentially allowing less resilient species to visit and stay on Akrana without further technical aide, at least within clearly defined limits. This also allows departing starships to reduce the initially required takeoff power until they are able to use their main engines.

Across open plains or the sea, wind speed can reach up to 300kph just above surface level, and triple that speed higher up. Many foreigners prefer to deal with the Frenna in orbital installations if possible, and merchants leave it up to them to get goods to or from the surface due to the unfamiliar weather conditions.
