The Talpini are a society of anthropomorphic, mole-like, sentient beings that live beneath Paris. Most of the world is apparently unaware of their existence, but they are known to the Master of Paris and his family, as well as Jiminez Hoffmann. Gilgamesh Wulfenbach also seems to know of their existence; there seem to be some [ working with his people] [[Chronology - Volume #|✣ ]] on the time-tunneling project beneath Mechanicsburg. They are ruled by a Moligarchy headed by a King. They seem be, on the average, about half the average height of human beings. They are known for being suspicious and xenophobic; strangers who encounter them by accident are likely to be made into gloves, which the Talpini wear most of the time.
