| - Starbase 234 was a Federation Starfleet starbase active in the 24th century near the Romulan and Klingon Empires, located in the H'atoria Gamma-12 system. The starbase had drydock facilities. (TNG: "Redemption II", "Unification I"; Bait and Switch: Beat the Drums of War) In 2368, both the USS Sutherland and USS Tian An Men were undergoing repairs at Starbase 234's drydock facilities when they were enlisted to assist the USS Enterprise-D interrupt the supply lines between the Romulan Empire and House of Duras during the Klingon Civil War. Fleet Admiral Shanthi was stationed there at this time. (TNG: "Redemption II") In the same year, the Enterprise-D returned to Starbase 234 for a top-secret debriefing on Ambassador Spock's disappearance and reappearance on Romulus. (TNG: "Unification I") In 2410 the station was headquarters to the H'atoria Sector Fleet and was commanded by Captain Jojo Appiah, who was forced to evacuate the base's nonessential personnel to Narendra III in the face of the Iconian invasion of the Milky Way. The station came under heavy Herald attack during the evacuation, and Appiah was eventually forced to order a retreat. The starbase's weapons destroyed several enemy ships but the station was eventually boarded, and Appiah triggered the station's auto-destruct. (Bait and Switch: Beat the Drums of War)

(TNG: "Unification I" ) Starbase 234 is also mentioned in the Star Trek: Destiny series of novels, in which it was commanded by Owen Paris and destroyed in a Borg attack in 2381. Set in 2409, the computer game Star Trek Online places Starbase 234 between the Nimbus system and the Azure Nebula and has players fight a combat exercise against the station. Later, the starbase is attacked and destroyed by the Iconians during their invasion of the Beta Quadrant.
