In keeping with other weapons featured in Metal Gear Solid V, the Tornado-6 Revolver is based on a real life weapon, taking design cues from the Mateba 2006M rather than the Colt Single Action Army Revolver, which had been Ocelot's signature weapon in past games. It also served the same real life weapon basis as the Uragan-5 ("Uragan" being the Russian word for "hurricane").
