Troy Kenworth is the final link to the club, and the steam, in Punked. Troy is a reformed bad boy, the son of Charles Kenworth, one of those who lost millions in Daniel Goldstein's Lower Tide Fund. Kenworth Sr.'s losses didn't end there, however; he went on to a divorce and suicide. Troy, perhaps understandably, went on a bender of his own at that point, and when Beckett pulls him in for questioning he has four assault charges pending, from bar fights.

Troy, perhaps understandably, went on a bender of his own at that point, and when Beckett pulls him in for questioning he has four assault charges pending, from bar fights. His downward spiral was itself arrested when Danny helped find him a job - at the steampunk club, The Gaslamp League. He is reluctant to discuss it since, apparently, he signed a confidentiality agreement to get the post. Danny was a key member of the League, and so his recommendation and the job, encouraged Troy to rediscover the joys of sobriety and begin to put his life back together. Most of the League members are from similarly high-paying, high-stress jobs like Danny's, and use the club to blow off more than a little steam. Adam Murphy was another such, and he and Danny staged a duel, supposedly for the honor (and hopefully affections) of Julia, Danny's assistant. It took place at midnight in the park, using antique duelling pistols. Troy, however, had never got over his father's death, and to see Danny in the club, seemingly living life to the full gnawed at him, so he turned the mock duel to his advantage. He modified his father's shotgun (presumably the weapon with which he committed suicide) to shoot antique lead balls and, under cover of the duel and the church bells, fired the fatal shot at the same instant as Adam, leaving Adam to believe he was a murderer.
