Fraser Forster is a goalkeeper who joined Rovers from Newcastle United on a one-month loan. His move came just two days after Steve Phillips's long time understudy Mike Green moved to Gloucester City on a season-long loan. Forster's move was confirmed on the day Newcastle legend Sir Bobby Robson passed away, and ended a month later when he joined Norwich City on loan, in spite of Rovers trying to extend the deal. He made four league appearances for Rovers, keeping two clean sheets, but did not play in either of the two League Cup fixtures during his spell as Newcastle did not want him cup tied.
