On April 30, 2012, it was announced that a web series, would play on Machinima Prime and Halo Waypoint during the weeks leading up to the release for Halo 4. The series debuted on October 5, 2012, and will contain five 15-minute live-action shorts. A 90-minute extended version of the digital series is included with the Limited Edition version Halo 4, and will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, Xbox Video, iTunes and video on demand services in December 2012, in the U.S. and Canada. The Blu-ray and DVD versions are set for release on December 4, 2012, and will have bonus features including audio commentary from director Stewart Hendler, and 343 Industries, the developers of Halo 4.
