Olive Ocean is a large body of water in Mirror World. The very beginning of the level takes place above the sea on several tropical islands. At later points in the level, Kirby must navigate through the serene ocean's coral-filled passageways. This water level bears much resemblance to Cabbage Cavern, as well as having many mirrors leading there; however in this level there is less emphasis on land and more on water. Swimming can hinder Kirby's abilities, thus slowing him down. Going into the water with a rare ability, such as Hammer or Smash, is not advised as there is no way Kirby can inhale the buoyant star. The scenery here also includes sunken ships and undersea trenches. The shark Gobbler inhabits a ship graveyard located in its waters, and serves as the level's boss.

When compared to other bodies of water in the series, Olive Ocean seems to be more bleak and dreary. It shares this trait with Secret Sea, which is also visually dark and barren.
