Avog was the title given to the leader of the Avogwi people. The choosing of an Avog, via a series of ceremonial duels, was one of the few occasions where Avogwi would gather in groups. Though the duels to determine an Avog were ceremonial, they were also duels to the death. This was in accordance with the philosophy handed down to the Avogwi by their legendary hero Toro-toral, who said that any creature who wanted to live was required to kill.
